Just for the record, I had a four bottles of San Miguel one night, went to sleep at about 10 and got a phone call at 3 am from some friends stuck in our local city for a lift home.....at the time I saw nothing wrong with getting up and getting in the car and picking them up.
At the time I didn't understand about how the limit is subjective or how long it takes alcohol to work its way through the body.............
Now, 8 years on I do understand and I do know, and I totally support a total ban on drinking, no top limits, not second chances, no nothing. I spent a year without a license, it buggered up my life and I totally deserved it.
No real reason to judge though eh?

I Have seen what driving under the influence of alcohol can do, not only the victim but the whole family suffers too, happened to a very good friend of mine when her sister was crossing the zebra crossing a drink driver run them over her sister has a mental age of 2year old now, her parents were told she'll be lucky to make it to her 20, she was only eight years old, when it happened. So sad for her family, the guy didnt even know what he did.

Otherwise then Im afraid it is not worth taking a risk because we all know its never the driver that seems to get killed.
I remember a few years ago when a guy driving his BMW killed a father and his kids on xmas eve, he was over the limit.
For that, he should lose his licence forever and get a custodial sentence because the family he killed can't get their life back.

While on a years working holiday we went for a night out with other halfs cousin and wife. I don't drink and on seeing that cousin was about to drive home I insisted that I drive. They did tell me they do it all the time, bla bla bla, but I insisted.
My God, I have never tried to drive such a heap of junk. It was raining heavily and the windscrenn wipers had a mind of their own, there was no power stearing, the side window was out so I was getting soaked. I don't think I was actually any safer at all driving. Although at least I could make sure I drove slowly.

I shopped my brother to the police! He kept doing it thought he was above the law!!
he got no sympathy from the rest of the family but I got excluded for a while.
Having seen countless families broken up through drunk drivers I detest it

may seem tough but I think drunk drivers should be given a custodial sentence wether or not they have an accident as they are just asking to maim or kill someone as a car is in the wrong hands a lethal weapon.
