It's 6 stars here in SA

Well the damaged window is still here. They are offering a $700 discount if they don't have to rip it out and start again. As it is mostly going to be behind curtains we have accepted this, and it is also going to be further hidden when they put the track for the retractable flyscreen on. The plasterer came yesterday and did a great job, so now we await the installers return to fix all the snags and fit said flyscreens.

They are a man down as one of the installers fell through a window he was installing!!

Might have been worth shipping over some Poles. They do a great job.

Installers will be here on Monday to fit the flyscreens and finish off the bits they didn't get around to.

They do reduce noise as well. You can't hear the main road with them shut, and they definitely lessen next door's air con and pool pump which are both outside our bedroom.

Easier to achieve in Australia, and since you can have a bigger gap, it can deliver better acoustic performance than sealed DG.

Of course, with the "made for Australian conditions" quality of the build on walls and ceilings, you might find sound leaks in via other routes...

They STILL haven't finished- not all of the bits and pieces were there, so they have to come back again.
Sigh.

Sigh.
I remember in the UK, Anglian had to remake one window 7 times because they couldn't get it right. Eventually I gave up and accepted the 7th window (which had a mark on the glass between the panes).
