that a dash of Branston pickle really lifts a rather mundane cheese sandwich . . . or is it just me?

It's not just you, yummy.

Especially if the sandwich consists of wholemeal bread

Definitely not just you

Nearly as good as putting a pickled onion in the sandwich

Branston is a particularly pleasant condiment, complimenting a whole plethora of light snacks, im particularly partial to a light smearing of said pickle UNDER grated cheese on toast, toasted until golden brown, mmm, delicious with a glass of red of an evening.Do you enjoy any other pickles as a sandwich enhancement or are you strictly a branston fan?

Don't the bits get stuck?

Cheese and branston used to be one of my favourite sarnies when I was a kid. These days, I'm partial to a bit of Mrs Ball's. Or Mango chutney. Cheese and mango chutney is scrummy.

The version in a squeezy bottle has smaller, more neater chunks.

Not always an acceptable substitute for the classic Branston fan.

My eldest would complain vociferously if I forgot to put Branston on his butties - thank God we can get it here, even if it is an extortionate price for a tiny jar.

Definitely tarts up a good cheese sarnie. Have just discovered some real tasting cheese which would go well with it too.

I can only eat a cheese and branson sarnie if the cheese is grated. Otherwise it just isn't the same............
