Do IT nerds have sense?
The email system here stopped working. Bloke in office calls IT to ask them to sort it. IT says 'yes we know there's no email, we sent out an email telling people about it'
Durr does anybody else have the same problem? |

Could they have meant that they sent out and email telling you that the email would be down for a while which you either didn't read or binned without opening ?

Durr does anybody else have the same problem? I'm no export in everything but I seen IT managers who I wouldn't trust with a ballpoint pen, never mind a companys entire infrastructure. |
Re: Do IT nerds have sense?
In my experience anyone who's highly intelligent or who takes an obsessive interest in one subject has little common sense.

I couldn't possibly comment; I'm a kept woman.
(He has no common sense whatsoever. Not a practical bone in his body.) |

On a lighter note; why do the phone/internet company's call centre message say "press 1 for internet problems", then go on to say "you can get help by contacting us online" If I was online, I wouldnt be contacting you idiots;................. |

Re: Do IT nerds have sense?
I've been known to use the phrase "educated idiots". I once worked somewhere where we paid an awful lot of money to bring in some Management Consultants to tell us where the business was going wrong. I watched one of the very clever people attempt for five minutes to put some papers into a plastic wallet - you know the ones closed on 3 sides, punched holes down one side?
Then I smiled sweetly, took it all off her, rolled the papers, stuffed them in, unrolled them and handed it all back to her. Those of us that left school and started work at 16 actually know useful stuff. ;) |
