I was on business m8....so couldn't make arrangements otherwise I would have definitely called you for a drink. I stayed at Peppers.

Yes, the air quality is lovely. The scent of the eucalypts too is fab.. and yes, uncluttered and unpopulated. Does get chilly in the evening if you're used to Sydney temps, but some nights it's damn warm. Can get up to 43 in the summer, so at the height there's not much in it between Sydney and here... but generally, it's a little cooler.
Peppers is really nice... good choice. Next time you're up, we'll have to have a drink. I should really head down to Sydney soon anyway - son wants to go on the ferry, so thought we might have a day out and do some touristy stuff ...

What I think, is that we'd managed to steer the thread back to the fundamental important factor, that being the demoralisation of a girl who couldn't adequately protect herself and the OP's obvious horror and disgust at the act itself.
'Incitement to violence' is 'legalese' bought about by a knee jerk (the emphasis on JERK) reaction to terrorist acts, by politicians. To use it here, on one person's post, who any intelligent person can see is deeply upset on behalf of this poor girl, as we all, mostly it appears, are, is frankly, a bit daft.
If it was so terrible, the ever so wise admin of this board would have removed it or edited it, and as they haven't, I trust their astute assessment of this post, that it's merely a personal opinion expressed, rather than an incitement for the masses in Melbourne to run out committing random acts of violence against a group of thuggish assholes who are going to 'get theirs' in jail or whatever suitable punishment is met to them, many times over anyway.

Yes, now you mention it I could smell the eucalyptus I think? I certainly could smell something *fresh* and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was;)

I can't take credit for Peppers. PA chose it. Good choice although food was a bit posh for me. Being a Yorkshire lass I'd have preferred pie and peas...LOL...only kidding, although Nouveau cuisine aint my style:o

I stayed in the city the following night too [had a meeting at HO the following day]. I couldn't get into my hotel room until after 2pm so I decided to drop my suitcase off at the hotel and pop into the city. Thought I might as well work from there ....

So there I was eating my lunch, Sydney Opera house and harbour bridge in front of me, doing conference calls. And for a moment it all seemed unreal.

We really don't know how lucky we are do we:o

You should smell it on a really hot day - fab!

You are indeedy;)

One thing I've noticed, whichever state I've been to there is always somewhere nice if you just take time out to look.

Blue Mountains are on my radar for any spare playtime I have in future:)

Absolutely... rainbows appear in the most oily of puddles.

Look forward to meeting you if you ever do come up again. I can show you the nice bits. :)

Good analogy:D

I will definitely let you know when I next intend visiting Blue Mountains. I've got a major project on the boil which doesn't finish till April next year so no holidays till after then:(

I'll definitely be up for a laugh and a few drinks after then though:)
