The snide, snippy snarky comments posters receive when they try and post a 'humerous' response to some of the deathly boring crap that gets posted here is probably enough reason to give up trying to have a laugh and go home...

I honestly thought that the Wii game thingy thread was taking the piss....

I used to find the Barbie fun, frolicksome and jam packed full of humour... Benny Hill, Monty Python and Blackadder all rolled into one sub forum... With the occasional tea and sympathy post... which was equally acceptable..

Now the Barbie is full of the serious stuff that used to be elsewhere and that I used to (largely) ignore... and that you can largely find the answers to if you search...

I used to start stupid threads, even before there was a Barbie section. I think most of them died on their arse, but a few really took off and I had weeks of fun with them. I think the trick is to be thick skinned, and if no-one gets the joke or replies, just get on with life.

A particular favourite was when someone started a thread about finding a detailed map of victoria or some state, so i started a new thread about a detailed map of tasmania.

I liked that one.:p

I'd love too, but now I've sold the farm, slaughtered the cattle and given away the short llamas there's not much to tell that's even remotely funny. I've now moved to another just as boring suburb of Australia. I've even joined an RSL club to try and get some excitement back in my life, still boring so now I'm looking for a nice lawn bowls club to join. Oh and if I was to tell you all with the happenings in my new part of Oz, you would only draw the conclusion that I was the problem and not Australia, afterall it must be me because all parts of Australia can't be crap can they!.....

Australia is that episode of the young ones....Boring....

Weird thing is, theres been a couple of threads started since then genuinely asking for maps of Tasmania... The island obviously not the female genital area. :p

Actually, I love the way Australians are so literal with there namings of areas or locations. You know like, "Deception Bay", "Lake Disappointment", " I'm leaving you for Bruce swamp".

Okay, I made that last one up, the other two are real places.

I bet its a hard sell for the tourist trade getting people to go to Lake Disappointment!
