I had to walk through a fair with a dagwood dog for my hubby who was sheltering under cover. It was bad enough I had to carry it but he'd asked for red sauce too - it was a sight to behold............just glad it wasn't me that had to eat it!!!

Personally I don't mind the stuff. I have been growing it this year and I agree it is not as nice just boiled up, it does need to be pickled to make it more palatable.

Anyway, what about beetroots very close relative, silverbeet. I quite like silverbeet.
All the beetroot I've seen in tins here in Sydney is just in water with a bit of sugar & salt added, what brands have you found that tins beetroot in vinegar?
