cyclists

not too offend anyone, but when your driving do cyclists annoy you like they do me, firstly i leave for work early, not by choice, what sane person gets up and rides at that time.
At the weekend they ride then go to a coffee shop for danish and coffee.
the most dangerous thing, they ride 2 a breast which apparently is legal but 3 and 4 sometimes.
any cyclists on here about to come back to me, pay rego and that and then you will have a voice until then stick to the cycle lane.
you then politely speak to them and they give you a spray back at the traffic which is what happened to me yesterday.
Is it just me or do cyclists annoy other drivers too ? they never used to but lately OMG

Funnily enough, I am a cyclist and pay rego. Taxes too. There are dickhead cyclists, but for every one there are 25 dickhead motorists.;)

Re: cyclists

i take your point but i do not see car drivers listening to i pods, blatantly not waiting for lights to go green or riding in front of a lorry to prove a point, all of which i saw this morning

I agree. What should be a healthy pastime is ruined by idiots. The peletons that take over the roads on a Sunday, trying to make a point, annoy me too. Not all cyclists are like this though......

No lights, cycle on the wrong side of the road, go through red lights etc etc

I personally am very considerate of cyclists as we all cycle in our family but there are some real arseholes out there & the police really need to crack down!

The only thing the cops pull you up for is not having a bell!

Oh yes!

But as long as you can shout you are in possession of an audible warning signal.

Think you'll find that almost all cyclists do pay road tax. since most of them own a car, therefore, by your own argument, you have no reason to complain.

Drivers who treat cyclists as obstructions rather than vulnerable road users probably shouldn't have a license. Do you drive over pedestrian as well if they get in your way?

Completely agree with you but if you are on a bike, with little defence, why put yourself at greater risk?

Re: cyclists

and then you get the idiot motorist who thinks it's fun to see how close they can drive next to the cyclist! I have come off a couple of times because of this. Not much fun when you fall into the road with cars and trucks coming by!

Personally, I think those dinky flashing lights which seem to be the norm now on bikes, are about as useful as t*ts on a bull for illumination and warning. At least with a proper light, you can see anything in your way and others can see you more clearly.

When I go out early morning or in the evening, I am lit up like a xmas tree. There are good cycle paths around my way but I do have to take in some roads, so I am prepared.....
