Another one that denies he's a Pom, tut tut.
Anyone from the U.K is considered a Pom, deportation wasn't limited to those of English heritage. Just be proud of our Olympians as a team, I am

I disagree, POM = English. The Aussies might not know the difference but the Jocks, Micks and sheep shaggers do.

I'm with you on this one Renth. The Aussies try to wind me up by calling me a POM.Most Aussies I know, apologise after mistakenly calling me a POM. A term only used for English people and normally said in a condescending way. I prefer Aus in the olympics anyway

POM = 'Perfection Of Mankind' When I explain this to Aussies they mysteriously stop calling me one.

That would tend to exclude the Micks & Jocks & Taffs

I think Pom tends to be reserved for English people, the connotation is now very much English but rightfully I think Irish and Scots should be as well.

Of course the sheepshaggers don't want a bar of it. But happy to compete in the games..(!)

Well, now we know why the poms are doing so well in cycling.....according to Foxsports.....

"The British have taken over as the dominant nation on spokes, much of that due to the man in charge of the team, Australian Shane Sutton, a knockabout bloke from the NSW bush."
