Paleo

Ugh, I know a couple of people who are doing this diet. It's just another fad for the fad hungry in my opinion. In many ways all this sort of stuff has become like a new religion for people who need to believe in something - They grab hold of these crackpot ideas and accept them as gospel without any real discovery or research process.

I guess that because we've effectively killed god, people need something else to believe in...

Paleo
I'm guessing it's eating food low in processing which is a good thing.
I don't think our bodies have evolved much, might explain the rise in obesity and allergies as food processing in the last 50 years hits us.

EDIT
I had a quick read and my diet is sort of Paleo (lol) only, ahem, I add cheese and milk. I could easily cut out legumes and cereral from my diet yet still eat vegetables.
If the goal is to reduce processed food then I have done that all my life. If the goal is to reduce acid, well I am willing to learn or understand why.

I think it is a better fad than say Atkins.

I think the employment stats say it all really. Look at places like Mackay which have been crying out for workers, but unemployment in the 18 - 24 age is at 50%.

I see it a fair bit in my industry. A lot of young kids are very happy to sit in front of the computer. But recently when i told one he needed to go out remote with a drill rig for a few nights he nearly started crying.

I had a young mid thirties year old from top 4 tell me he could build a billion dollar business himself.

I begged to differ and told him he didnt have the balls.

Certain things you dont get behind a desk as in your point on working on a remote site, or without a secure pay packet (or behind others for support).
