It would appear the lesson from Faf is to shine the ball on the zip of your trousers (2013) or eat mints and use the saliva to shine the ball (2016). Kohli at it too and both winners! Perhaps we're just legal with ball maintenance or maintainance if you will?
Why do you always speak of Australia in the 3rd person? It's never us, we etc it's the Aussies or the Australians?
Do you still think the most successful captain of all time, any country, with 219 wins out of 322 matches is poor? He had a batting average of 52 in the 77 tests he captained as well.

Anyhow, Faf found guilty of ball tampering for a second time. No suspension. There we have it as I said, nothing will come of this. Probably should have been a third time after being warned in Perth.
I wonder if Adelaide will roll out another swingers deck. Lets hope not. I'm going to day 3 and it would be nice to see some play.

Oh my. Mr Cricket / Mr Tennis has joined us with further nonsense. Sorry bud, I didn't mean to take the shine away from you exceptionally low level of cricket knowledge.

He lost his match fee, has penalty points, further transgression will result in suspension and the good name of SA cricket has been besmirched as they will surely be accused of cheating no matter how trivial it seems.

Maybe the Channel 9 reporter should be charged and fined too?
I hope du Plessis puts it behind him and makes lots of runs in the third test. That would be sweet.

Australia suffer an abysmal defeat so hey let's detract attention away from the most appalling display of cricketing prowess by accusing the S.A captain of cheating.
A look back at the Aussie bowlers/team and most of them are sucking mints or chewing gum. Go back further and weren't England accused of using Murray Mints to win the 2005 Ashes? Mints, gum, sweat & sunscreen all used for a bit of extra shine.
Du Plessis guilty of tampering means the umpire can award an extra 5 runs so a loss by an innings and 80 runs becomes a mere innings and 75 runs

David Warner was saying that this incident had little outcome on the result

Well you expected nothing to come of the Faf case. Quote 'I bet nothing comes of this'. He was not suspended only because of a technicality which for some reason saw his 2013 conviction dropped or not counted or happened outside of a 2 year period or whatever - as far as his hearing went he was a first time offender.

He's been done. Move on
As for cheating, there are plenty of incidents of Australia cheating if you want to go down that road!

Nice try though. Didn't work.

Australia were pathetic in Sri Lanka and have been pathetic against SA. No excuses from me. End of.
It's interesting in the Wiki on ball tampering that it specifically mentions - Atherton, Tendulkar, Pakistan 2006, Anderson and Broad, Afridi, Du Plessis twice, Philander and Siddle who was accused by SL but cleared by ICC. Draw your own conclusions.

I'll leave it to you to add value to the thread with banal and self-evident comments that we (to you they or them or the Aussies) need to bat better against swing or bowl with swing. That's as obvious and useful as me telling Andy Murray he needs to hit more balls in court or lose his service less often or break service more often.

Yeah ....... Not a great choice.
Regardless, not much you can do against a ball ducking a diving around like the Saffa's have been able to do.
The only thing you can do is bowl just as well, and chew mints.
Makes for short tests though.

That would be 3 tosses from 3 for Faf
