What is the current sitution with construction work in Perth? Is it pretty much non-existant for the expats?

CBD is booming, there's cranes everywhere and probably more construction going on than in Dubai right now. Depends what you do? I don't know if the sites are all staffed up or not. Major LNG plants going up in the North of the state too. I think home construction is tailing off though.

I've noticed this recently. Driving in to the city on the Graham Farmer and then the Mitchell, you see shitloads of cranes. I reckon a bare minimum of 50 new buildings going up at the moment.

great to know - not that we were planning to head to Perth - need visa first though.
Dubai has been totally wiped out - amazing to see road clear, rents/property prices dropped - lets see how many kids will be here at school come september. There is a small amount of work going on just - lucky for us - but who knows whats in store.

Good luck with the job hunt
