I will have to keep an eye open for them playing here next, I have unfortunately missed them a couple of times but will do my utmost to see them next time around. They are one of the biggest bands in the world for good reason and their stage show is supposed to be worth the money on it's own.

Taking the bands style out of the equation... Apparently it was one of the best if not the best concert this Country has ever put on in regards to visual and sound technical interaction..... Source Music Journalists on the media here. Lots of experienced people in awe of what happened last night. A quantam leap from Floyd at their best apparently.
Must have been good by the sounds of things. They had the Etihad Manager on all the news radio stations here explaining how it all worked. I'm no big fan of Coldplay, but by the sounds of things I've missed out on something truly spectacular.
I'd like to hear what the band themselves have to say about it now.... sounds like they surpassed themselves.

As I'm going to see Coldplay on Saturday (not my choice, accompanying a friend), I'll be able to do a direct comparison, and as I've seen Floyd, who top my list for best show, I'll do that comparison as well.

Wait until Melbourne get a load of Radiohead this weekend then!!!! Saw them in Sydney on Tuesday....very imaginative, effective stage show. Music is not as obvious as Coldplay either.

Good luck with that then

Are they still there
?My last memory of that place was an adjacent firework display, that we walked to in total pitch darkness. There was 100's of people sitting around n the pitch black with no apparent lighting anywhere. Bloody surreal it was.

Those places actually scare me..... Gives me the ebe gee bees.... God forbid I should end up with that as a source of entertainment. I really have seen oldies with purple rinses in there... full of the CWA Queensland types, by the apparent bus load in the middle of the week....

Coldplay...the bane of my life at my last job, bane of my life at my current job. Always thought Chris Martin was a plank but the boss tells a very sweet story that changed my mind slightly. They're not nearly as rock as they think they are though. MOR at best.

Anyone else attend ? I went with Mrs Haggis and my 10 year old son who had "the best night of my life". Possibly as he learned a few new swear words during Jay Z's "99 Problems" at the start !
Just an astonishing show - 60,000 glowing wrist bands, fireworks, lasers, balloons etc and a cracking performance as well.

I have always thought of them as being extremely down to earth and not at all rock, interviews with Chris Martin always show him to extremely 'normal'.

$70 to hear Never Gonna Give You Up? Err no! Roll on Saturday when the bloody great picture comes of the hoarding on the Highway.
