Default Coin Jar

Really silly one

Does anyone else put all their loose coins in a jar? I used to take the jar to Sainsburys when it was full and emptied it into a machine that then gave me a receipt that I could use for my shopping.

I dont know what to do with my coin jars over here, I keep filling them up, but don't know what to do with them

The banks that I use (commonwealth and Anz) both have coin machines in them (WA)

Yeah? I will see if any of the banks round here do the same.

I am getting into some serious nesting and everything has to be tidied up and cleared out lol.

My OH thinks I am crazy

The NAB in Victoria Point has a coin machine, for such purposes.

All my spare change goes into my jar daily, then out again for my daughters lunches

Must do a count up.... $64.55

Thanks

It adds up doesnt it! I have two years worth of jars all stacked up in the kitchen, so I need to do something with it all. I might have to do it in several trips so I dont feel like I robbed the church collection tray when I go in with all my jars.

This will make you all chuckle .... small town country living, example 1) .... I take my coin tin (you know those ones you need to use a can opener for) into my local ANZ, I do open it first and I then leave it there.

Come back an hour later, it's counted and deposited into my account!

And yes, I trust them!

We had a coin jar in the UK, used to pay for family treats, it was great fun emptying it out and totalling it up.

We also have one here, it is currently serving as my 'living expenses' and as such is more jar than coin.

Once I start my maternity leave, I will probably be paying for my shopping by counting out the coins from the jar. I will do my best to go shopping on the weekends, laboriously count out my change, discover I havent got enough, put something back, try again, all the while ignoring my screaming baby and the growing queue behind me.

I hope I'm not in that queue behind you . . . . !

Why not just empty all of your accumulated coin jars into a coin bucket? . . . that'll tidy the place up . .

If you can't find a coin machine then just ask your bank for some clear cash bags and put them in there.

I had $150 worth last time I looked I'll probably be cashing it in to pay my phone bill when I get back to Aus, last look it was $180 and I have 2 weeks left to go

Sounds like a splendid plan, make it so!

You will need to wear pyjamas for the full effect.
