Car Hire for Brissie area (Robina area)
Hoping to arrive in Brissie sometime late October/early November and will need to hire a car for a couple of months until we get settled.
Does any one have any advise on good and bad car hire companies? We don't want anything flash or fancy as we will be on tight budget, just something that works and is safe, 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 11.
We are also very flexible on whether we pick it up from the airport or from the Gold Coast area.
Thank you
Lesley

Hi Lesley,
Don't know all the ins and outs of car hire, but I used East Coast Car Rentals, about 6 weeks ago and they were absolutely fine.
I think you can hire at the airport and drop off Gold Coast, if thats what you need as they have offices in both, but check first.
I would use them again, asa they seem pretty honest, friendly and fair.
Alan.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, We will definately look into them.
Just trying to do something constructive whilst we wait for the verdict off the case officer, and car hire is the only thing that we haven't yet sorted out, so thanks guys.

One word of advice - try not to get your rental from an airport unless it's unavoidable. You will get charged more than from an office in a suburb. East Coast Rentals have offices in Surfers and Tugun. I'm sure if you were to come down by train to Robina, you could arrange for East Coast Rentals to collect you from there and take you to an office or even deliver the car there.
They collected us from our apartment and took us to the office quite happily.
