My pick would be China town. There's a great muchly awarded restaurant there... Japanese and Thai.

Formby hall is also fab if you want something posher.
I think you mean the Philharmonic Pub? Don't know Continental? The Phil pub is a great place to go for a drink too. Beautiful building. Much visited and loved. Say hi for me if you go.

Also go and check out the mens toilets in the Continental Pub (not a joke) - they are the most ornate mens toilets in the country - all tiny mosaic tiles and tourists come from all over to check them out. Just check no one is in there before you go snap happy!
