The reality is at the federal level the loony extremists are trying to pull the party even further right because the QLD loonies are threatening to vote for Hanson's brand of loony fascism. But they are only doing that because the liberal party as a whole has no plan, no vision, no clue.

The libs are reactionaries, in both negative meanings of the word. Quick, we need a policy to win votes - I know we'll say we'll move the embassy to jerusalem, that'll get the jews onside.

Yeah right. Victoria is a raving looney left state. The rest of Australia knows it.

And the funny part about what you wrote, let's take a look at all the Labor loonies in prison.

From there, google search Luke Foley

Victoria paving the way. The rest of Australia, or at least where matters, has had enough of right wing division and narrow focused politics.
Just look at the string of right wing Coalition reactionary politicians that escaped prison , regardless of crime. Bjeike Peterson former QLD premier , for one.
Neither side has covered itself in glory when it comes to corruption or self serving narrow interests.

Again. Another non argument. Those in prison or those who you would like in prison. The facts sell themselves.

The question now is, can the libs stretch it out till May for the election they just announced, after Julia Banks resigned, catching scummy out in the middle of a news conference.

They are decidedly in a minority now, and about as divided as you can get with the loony wing thinking they should go even more extreme

The aftermath of those dark days in August then acutely laid bare the major party's obstructionist and combative actions and internal games, all for political point scoring," she said.
Strange that the coalition only speak the truth as they are walking out the door.

"It is our intention to deliver a surplus budget."
Yeah, right scummy !

The debt has doubled under the unique economic management of the coalition, so any excess receipts should be going to deal with that - but I bet he tries a last give away to his mates.

The Libs will deliver a budget surplus. It could come next year if they wanted to give you a tax hike. Perhaps they should just give Victoria a tax hike and bring it in early fixing Labors mess.

Meanwhile in Sydney the new, non sexual assaulting Labor Premier in waiting is promising to stop the stadium rebuilds leaving a hole in the ground. That's his only policy. It's got some legs because he has lied to the people telling them that they aren't building hospitals and schools because of stadiums.

This is a total lie of course because the NSW govt are doing it all. Stadiums, roads, rail, hospitals, schools, the lot. Exactly what you get from Liberal governments. Surplus and proper economic management.

I guess that's why he will cancel the stadiums. Its Labor - they can't manage their money out of a wet paper bag.

Looks like the WA government has ended the fracking moratorium

I don't particularly like McGowan but this is an excellent move on his part

Meanwhile, the ban stays in energy starved Victoria - virtue-signalling, PC, socialist nonsense

Well done, Julia Banks in moving to the cross benches. Not before time. Hopefully mass resignations will follow from a party long the ideals and meaning with regards what Liberalism stands for. It likely won't save us from the situation we have allowed to formulate, but will at least assure the pain will be more evenly dispersed.

Yes. I think Julia has done the right thing here. As she said, a party, core values, and successes she wants to be a part of, and as the part evolved with what the people wanted, certain MP's felt the need to cripple all the great work.

It's such a shame internal stubbornness might lead us to undo all the great work, which has put Australia in such a great position and righted the wrongs of the Labor party values, failings and most importantly economic mismanagement.

Tough times ahead for Australia. Let's hope the voters don't go for the Howard change and repeat all the Rudd/Gillard/Rudd failings.

I understand the principals of thermodynamics and high-voltage electrical engineering though - something the left refuses to take on board

Modern left-wing energy policy is an engineering-free zone

We're doing great down here, dont believe what you read.. I think the polls underline this.

I've heard so many stories from Melburnians travelling interstate, being told things about Melbourne by Cabbies and Barman in quite dramatic fashion that just aren't true, or so overstated that it's laughable. Do people really actually believe the crap.

.
No we don't believe anything any Melbournians tell us...............

And why exactly did voters go for the ALP change? Poor economic management in the extreme, by a party you hold with such reverence in such matters. A era lost through bribes and poor policy. Considering the period of the Howard/Costello era was the height of the boom we came out of it very little to show for it.
A mining boom and some $334 billion in windfall gains. Of which 94% or $314 billion was spent on middle class and high income bribes.

Coffers depleted due to above bribes on ALP election. Now this is before we even start on the cause of the housing fiasco that is being played out at the moment.
Coalition sound economic managers?
Only a complete 'economic novice' and/or ideologically 'joined at the hip', right wing excuser of the folly and total incompetence of the Coalition would utter the words 'competence' in response to that political entity of the past quarter century.

You are correct though. Australia is about to enter very uncertain times. Again I say, ALP while far from perfect, will spread the pain.

As much as you want Australia to become an economic basket case because people like you thrive on negativity, its the total opposite, which you can thank the Federal Liberal Party for.

There is no argument to be had there no matter what crap you make up.
