Combined they've got more nukes than everyone bar Russia & the US. No one would will mess with them. Makes good sense, the war between the two was over a long time ago, bigger fish to fry....

In a nutshell. Neither country can afford to run a military any more so integration makes sense. This will expand to include other EU nations. Political integration, economic integration, legal integration, military integration. As far as I am concerned the EU is one state, and I have no problem with this concept.

We can and must change the rules to make the EU leadership fully elected and accountable. Let's face it - Britain is hardly the greatest democracy on Earth - it still has a totally unelected second chamber for one thing, not to mention its voting system usually means the majority of voters never get who they vote for.

It's not the first time they've collaborated together, during the Suez crisis they both fought Egypt, probably one to forget though

Anything that cuts costs is good in my view, British defence budget is way too high with the current state the finances are in.

The elite forces of countries vary and sometimes people like to attach arbitary grades. But I'd as soon as work with the REP as with any other. Often there are cultural ties. And at the end of the day, they're soldiers with skills..none are supermen.
One of my views on elite forces is if they do a lot of singing whilst working. If you can sing, then you're not working (tabbing) hard enough. Singing is good for unit identity when you're not working...
