Have to say, I've never really picked up on that from your previous posts. What you've expressed as your current opinion is what I already thought you thought?

Whats Cadw ?

Not sure when we are going again, was supposed to go this year, but owing to building projects etc, I cant really afford it. Which I'm quite happy about.

Next time, we are basing in France.... I've promised the Wife that much, and she wont come unless I do. Had a crap time without her last time, despite the trip 2.5 years before being the.best one I've had.

Looking back, I'd say it was the overcrowding and its repercussions, (I seemed to develop a fixation on spotting yobs) that caused me the most angst... and there's me supposedly loving Buzz... must be getting old.

Cadw are the people who look after Welsh heritage sites.

We spent 5 days in Paris on the return leg of the journey. Would recommend France as a base. (Tis expensive though.)

I'm hoping to sort out my housing to the extent where I'm really happy and proud to do a holiday house swap.... Could take a while though, and then I could be broke dammit, well back in Mortgageville.

Interesting that you think that. Would be interested to see what that is based on?

Shame really as I used to think it was a great place but this trip has removed that rosy view.

Despite what people say, it is expensive. The roads are slow. Extremely cold weather is not better than hot weather. The drivers aren't courteous. There are lots of miserable people (especially in London). And where's the festive spirit. The amount of monitoring and security checks is oppressive. Attractions are expensive (except for Cadw and museums - see below).

On the plus side, the museums were better, Cadw charges were fair, DLR worked efficiently and the London Pride was good.

I wish I never had to go again...

Yep, pretty much what I thought of it too - although I was nowhere near London, I was 'oop North in Yorkshire and Lancashire. Couldn't wait to get home again.

Difference for me is that I won't be going again though! ;) If I go anywhere near Europe it will be to Greece or somewhere near there.

It's my parents 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow. My wife made a DVD story of their wedding pics and all of us children, spouses and kids over time until now. She added some tear jerking majestic music and sent it off to a Cape Town florist to include it in their flower bouquet. :)

We did visit in April Last year before we moved to Oz.

Nah, its better up in your direction with the random nutters snipering people in surfers. Though if I had to live in surfers I might start shooting people too

Welcome home Martin....can we arrange a bantam play date?

My UK trip in 2008 was great, nice and quiet, in fact. School hols.

Had no desire to move or live there.
