That's the impression I've been left with after my recent 1 month stay there.
Shame really as I used to think it was a great place but this trip has removed that rosy view.
Despite what people say, it is expensive. The roads are slow. Extremely cold weather is not better than hot weather. The drivers aren't courteous. There are lots of miserable people (especially in London). And where's the festive spirit. The amount of monitoring and security checks is oppressive. Attractions are expensive (except for Cadw and museums - see below).
On the plus side, the museums were better, Cadw charges were fair, DLR worked efficiently and the London Pride was good.
I wish I never had to go again...

Family commitments.
This time it was my parents' 50th wedding anniversary and then decided to stay on for Xmas.
I thought the weather would put a bit of a damper on trip but it was so much worse than expected. But more than the weather the place seemed a lot more crowded and miserable compared with the last trip I made in 2007.

Not sure when we are going again, was supposed to go this year, but owing to building projects etc, I cant really afford it. Which I'm quite happy about.
Next time, we are basing in France.... I've promised the Wife that much, and she wont come unless I do. Had a crap time without her last time, despite the trip 2.5 years before being the.best one I've had.
Looking back, I'd say it was the overcrowding and its repercussions, (I seemed to develop a fixation on spotting yobs) that caused me the most angst... and there's me supposedly loving Buzz... must be getting old.

I wasnt aware it did make a difference to my trip
, unless you thought I was seriously going to give away the seats and cash of course
Its obvioulsy a 'popcorn' thread, or can we only reply if on our last visit to UK were done over by a pack of chavs and their ferocious ferrets
