Brainstorming

I've probably been guilty of office-speak in my time and must herein apologise.
Not any apology, people, but apology 2.0. It is an apology which I hope will reboot the holistic synapses whilst at the same time systemising the core values which we all embrace.
Sniff my chair

Now I count myself as just a normal bloke (some might argue) and I've always thought that terms and phrases as listed below were used by pretentious tosspots
Brainstorming
We need to be behind the 8 ball on this guys
We need to make sure all the ducks are lined up
Thinking outside the box
Pinging someone an E-mail
etc etc etc
However, I was on a plane back from Melbourne yesterday and picked up a paper to read during the journey, and I virtually pissed myself when I read that an un named council in the UK has banned the term 'brainstorming' because it may upset epileptics
Instead of previously inviting colleagues to a brainstorming session, staff are now required to send out invites to, and this really is a corker, A THOUGHT SHOWER'.
WTF is going on man, does no-one speak plain English without fear of upsetting someone else or appearing behind the times with their management speak?? World get a grip:curse:

I told him that I wouldn't blame him for throwing a fit if he heard this mentioned at his place of work. He didn't talk to me after that?

I was speaking to an epileptic about this very subject the other day and mentioned that it was the right decision on the part of the council because they need to ensure that everyones sensibilities are respected and that they act accordingly.
I told him that I wouldn't blame him for throwing a fit if he heard this mentioned at his place of work. He didn't talk to me after that?

And for reference only: IT'S A BLACKBOARD!!! CALLING IT SUCH WILL NOT OFFEND ANYONE UNLESS HE/SHE IS A COMPLETE ARSE

Deliberately steering conversations away from the mention of someones colour/religion/disability, merely makes the conversation a short and uncomfortable one. However, don't start off with 'so, how long you been black then? probably won't work
