Brainstorming

Now I count myself as just a normal bloke (some might argue) and I've always thought that terms and phrases as listed below were used by pretentious tosspots

Brainstorming

We need to be behind the 8 ball on this guys

We need to make sure all the ducks are lined up

Thinking outside the box

Pinging someone an E-mail

etc etc etc

However, I was on a plane back from Melbourne yesterday and picked up a paper to read during the journey, and I virtually pissed myself when I read that an un named council in the UK has banned the term 'brainstorming' because it may upset epileptics

Instead of previously inviting colleagues to a brainstorming session, staff are now required to send out invites to, and this really is a corker, A THOUGHT SHOWER'.

WTF is going on man, does no-one speak plain English without fear of upsetting someone else or appearing behind the times with their management speak?? World get a grip:curse:

Hey mate, where you been? Missed ya.

I agree, you can't say f**k all these days. I'd start ranting on this subject but it would probably get deleted. Nice to have you back:wub:

You ba**ard, you've been off living your life haven't you? What do you do (apart from the Brad Pitt impersonator gigs)?

I work as HR specialist for a large management consultancy within a large Financial organisation. I thought the UK was bad for jargon. Every day here I hear some new term. Next day, laughably, everyone is saying it.

My personal favourites are 'framework, toolkit, batting average, silver medallist, dropping ther ball, pipeline and leverage'....

I have however introduced the office to 'numbnuts and twxt'. My contribution to the international office.

My cousin went for her degree ceremony this week for the OU and they have banned mortar boards as when everyone throws them in the air in celebration, there have been eye injuries!

I ask you!

I knew there was a reason I never did a degree - I'd only want to do the course for the 'release' of throwing that board.

Strange old world, eh????

As a meteorologist, I find that term derogatory and ****ing offensive.

As I work from home alot, I only have to go into work when they want some 'face time'.

In the old days it would have been called 'get your arse in here, we need to talk to you in a meeting'.:p

Face time, great.

I particularly hate being referred to as 'you guys at the coal face'

I just thought of another one my old boss would say after a 'thought shower', 'well we'll get a list together and see what comes out of the sausage machine' 10;1 it's bloody sausages you minge
