Bedtime?
Last Friday night in Perth Channel 10 screened its "family movie" Nanny McPhee from 8.30 to 10.30. On Saturday night Channel 9 had Harry Potter from 7.30 until 10.30. We rarely watch films on the television anyway, because of the interminable commercial breaks, but my children are tucked up in bed long before 10.30pm. I'm curious to know if I'm the one out of step and if most families allow their children to stay up this late. Presumably the tv schedulers believe this to be the norm?

My kids are in bed at 7.30/8.00 (depending on after school activities etc) on a school night, but weekends are pretty much whenever they feel like dropping.

same here, if not earlier. Even if we let them stay up they would crash. The stupid thing is the timeslot could be cut by an hour if they got rid of the breaks. We just record them on the PVR so they can watch them later and skip the ad breaks too

Thats the problem, TV channels wouldnt function without the advertisers - the movies and TV shows are just a garnish.
