That's a good point because my main accounts are currently with The Nationwide, will have to check with that. Halifax might not be affected because they converted to a bank a few years back.

Halifax isn't a building society and hasn't been since demutualising in the late 1990's, it's now part part of the HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) Group.

Nationwide is about the only big building society left in the UK.

I have an account with Nationwide which happily let me change my address online (using their little calculator like thing), Lloyds TBS are on the other hand making my life a pain in the *** trying to change my address in Aus (very soon i'll be heading to the ombudsman complaining as I've done everything they ask multiple times and they then keep asking the same or closing my complaint without responding!)

I still have my account and my credit card with Lloyds, in fact since moving here I even opened an Online Saver account with them as well.
Statements get sent to an Aus address, new cards get sent here as well, and I do all my banking online. Very handy for sorting out payments in the UK, pressies for kids over there, stuff like that. And at present I'm moving every cent that I can in that direction, via Tranzfers, to make the most of the interest rate.

Thanks for that. Have you received new cards, etc in Australia since changing your address online?

Interesting thing with Halifax, Google shows in TOP position:
Halifax Online Bank UK - Our online banking service gives you a little extra help with your finance and money - mortgages, savings, current accounts, ...
www.halifax.co.uk/
But... on clicking the link I get:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.halifax.co.uk
Try reloading
Got a bit worried, but managed to locate my favourite Halifax page at: http://www.lloydsbankinggroup.com/ab..._equitable.asp

It's moved about a bit over the years, now residing with the new owners at Lloyds.

My Grt, Grt, Grandfather would be turning over in his grave, but then again, he may be pretty pleased with himself But he wouldn't know Lloyds like I knew Lloyds...

Never had a problem with First Direct sending new cards to our Aus address. The fact that one of the accounts has had zero balance for four years hasn't stopped them sending new cards
