Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

there are also longer versions, but rarely sang

A further verse goes thus:

This 'ere is the wattle,
It's the emblem of our land,
You can stick it in a bottle,
Or hold it in your hand.

or, to quote Acca Daca "it's a long way to the shops if you want a sausage roll"... well I think that's what they say.

Being British I shall stick to the National Anthem, with "Land of My Fathers" for really patriotic occasions

Eldestchild uses the above line as justification for his plans to ship us off to a nursing home in Grimsby once we hit 45.

He reckons it's positively un-Australian to be old.

Tell him his home is "our home is dirt by sea" and that's where you will kick him if he pushes his luck.
