December Boys...think it must be filmed in SA. Unfortunately it has' Harry Potter 'in it, prepare for wooden acting.

That's always put me off watching it.

Is Breaker Morant an Aussie movie? (It's been a long time since I saw it but I assume most of it is in South Africa.)

I liked Gallipoli (although it has created the erroneous image that the Aussies were being slaughtered while the Brits sat around on the beaches drinking tea).

I've not seen 10 canoes yet. Any comments?

she was quite specific in her request for classification

She did ask that it be based in the bush which the Castle simply isn't

l thought Galliploi was the best OZ film ever made and probably the best WW1 film ever made, if you liked Gallipoli you will like a TV mini-series called "the Anzacs "with Paul Hogan it was the most expensive OZ tV show ever made about of group of 12 Aussie soldiers who fight through WW1 from Galliopli to the western front, lots of great batttle scences. Other good war films, Breaker Morant and the Lighthorseman.
A good Aussie film if you want to see some OZ history and landscape is " Ned Kelly" starring the late Heath Ledger. Picnic and Hanging rock is another good film, the Castle. Chopper and Romper stomper are both very violent but good films, one called " The interview" was very good.
A really good Mini series called " The dirt water Dystansy" starring Hugo Weaving about an immigrant from the slums of London who immgrates to OZ in the early 1900's and builds up OZ's biggest cattle empire in the outback and becomes the wealthiest man in OZ.
