...isn't that how the cane toad problem came to be in the first place!? I wonder what they'll pick....hopefully something more fun and better able to defend itself against the great Aussie bogan!

Umm, you do realise that when the first settlers arrived & displaced the Aboriginals, there was no such thing as an Australian since the country didn't exist at that time.

Most of the people that killed off the aborigines were from the British Isles. They weren't Australian at all, we're talking the early settlers of the country.

It wasn't all that long ago that the English were involved in massacres against the Indians as well (and to think that Australians get all the wrap for persecuting Indians).
Also how many Afrikaners were slaughtered by the English in the late 1800s not all that long after the aborigines were being massacred in Australia?

And how many Irish were killed by the British?

A few years ago the then mayor finally got rid of them due to public health issues - getting to plague proportions. There was an almighty row at the time but generally a well regarded policy by the public. The poor bugger who sold all the bird seed was heart broken despite a 'generous' compensation package (think there was only one bloke still there).

Had some great times there as a kid so had very mixed feelings about it.

About nine felines have been consumed in backyards across Cairns in the past five weeks. The culprits are scrub pythons, hungry for prey that has been flushed out of the city’s rainforests and bushy areas because of heavy rainfall.
