Is Australia Overrated?
#1
I was going to post this in Rovers Return but I thought it might be a bit like kicking a dog when it's down.
Well, it's Australia Day Eve and I thought it must be high time to resurrect one of mankind's greatest dilemmas: Is Australia Overrated?
In these times of economic uncertainty, I thought I'd kick things off with the economic merits (or lack thereof) of the Land Downunder compared to the colonial overlords of the north (you know, the ones that formerly ruled the waves/slaves/exotic financial instruments etc).

I can't be arsed either. It's like Marmite, some love it and some hate it. I don't care that people hate it as long as I am not judged for liking it (which is very unusual around these parts!).
Live and let live I say!

Yes. Yes it is.
These articles prove unequivocally that Australia is overrated. Thank you for bringing this important issue to public attention.

Short answer is yes, it is overrated, in the same way the UK is underrated.
But that doesn't make either automatically swing to the other end of the spectrum.
Thruth is always somewhere in the middle (speaking in general terms) IMO.

What a pointless thread, if you want to live here and you think it is the bees knees then good for you, others don't think that and live elsewhere. Simple.

Australia is neither underrated nor overrated.
It's all about one's ATTITUDE in life.
