------------aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh or maybe not

fair point, probably not the seller. Could have happened at any stage through all three US states? If the box felt heavy then how would they know there was an issue? I've had British posties nick my ebay things - and yes it was proven. Happens all over the world unfortunately :-(

Ah but would they rush to post 'Britain excels in thieving again' if that happened?

As you say thieving and conning happens worldwide; individuals are criminals, not nations.

Completely off-thread - Still Game? Jack and Victor, Craiglang and all that? (one of the funniest comedy series ever made).

absolutely, the one and same. The funniest comedy series I've certainly ever seen. Did take me a while to understand some of the jokes however and sometimes still struggle with the accent... only now and again... Winston is brilliant.

Ta, yep fantastic comedy. Sadly will never be made again because first 'Winston' fell out with the other 2 and then Kiernan fell out with Hemphill.

The first 6 series and specials are available on DVD:

Like Rab C Nesbitt, the BBC was reluctant to show Still Game outside of Scotland. English viewers claimed they needed subtitles! :D

Err, yes, but the purpose of the $10 Bluetooth 30-pin adapter is to convert where you plug it in to Bluetooth. Thence you can connect anything that can push out audio over Bluetooth directly to the Hifi - eg a phone, a tablet, a laptop, anything. Means you aren't limited to apple, etc. In essence the Hifi becomes Bluetooth speakers.

eg like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo0talEdTTA

ipod stuff, even the small capacity old units, tend to be $80-$100 - which means it can be cheaper.

Yep , thanks , I got that , should mention that the stereo also has a remote which can run the ipod a well as the stereo and whilst I can see the benefits of the Bluetooth in the first instance I'll stick with the iPod it's what the stereo was designed for and 'm a bit of a compartmentalisation freak.

As to ipod nano 3rd gen costs , anywhere from around $25 to $90 depending somewhat on whether they're a 4 or an 8gb , the claimed condition and accessories , though there seems to be little sense shown if two people want the same one on the day

eBay generally side with the buyer. If you paid with Paypal you need to start a claim with them before the time limit (can't remember but it's something like 28 days). Also reverse the charge on the credit card.

My angle wouldn't be telling Paypal that Stratrack Express ripped you off but that you ordered an item and it an empty package arrived. Make it between the seller and Startrack Express.

Yep, open a dispute with PP. I have only had to do that once and got my money back.

It's a PITA , paypal wanted a police report filed , which I've done, along with a few pithy comments , paypal are more devious to deal with than a bath full of greased shithouse rats .

It's obvious they want to stick the seller fair up the Currumba with the cost , I believe the guy sent the damn thing , shit he sent me the original purchase receipt from 2008 with his name and address --which is still current-- on it FFS.

It's obviously just easier for them than hunting down the handling chain to find the thieving asole who actually nicked it and will continue to knock off stuff in perpetuity.

I'll be after a chunk of StarTrack tomorrow .

I haven't been this annoyed about something since they put Newcastle Brown in cans.

If you open a PayPal dispute, the only thing they can do is to get your money back from the seller, they have no other way. The seller should take the problem up with the delivery service he used, and let them sort it out, you can also report it at your end which will only lend weight to the sellers claim.

If that's the case this is where the seller really may get crunched , it appears the delivery service was commissioned by fleebay , I paid two postage payments with this one , a local and separately an international , even though the were all billed at the same time as the item.

When the seller got the fleebay notification of payment and shipping advice my address had been substituted with this address :- 1850 Airport Exchange Blvd . Erlanger.#200. Kentucky, and a consignment No added , it was re labelled in Erlanger by a shipping Co called Pitney Bowes with my address and on it went .

I actually have a copy of his fleebay payment and shipping advice and no-where does it mention anything about -on shipping or that the buyer is not in the US.

The seller claims he had no knowledge that this was happening and that up until I chased the consignment No that he even knew I was not in America.

Murkey doings :sneaky:

Sounds like he used a drop shipping service. Seriously, reverse the credit card charge and make it between the seller and Startrack, I've sold shitloads of stuff on ebay over the years (over $75 grand worth one year) and the non delivery of the goods is always the seller's problem.
