bit hot yesterday then.

Paramedics treated approximately 1,900 festival-goers during the Sydney leg of Big Day Out festival this weekend as a heatwave blasted Australia's biggest city.

Temperatures tipped 40-degrees Celsius on both days of the festival, which took place at Sydney's Showground venue, Jan. 22-23.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service hospitalized 36 people, including a 27-year-old man who had suffered a suspected drugs overdose. Three police officers also suffered heat stress during the operation.

It wasn't just the harsh weather that kept authorities busy. Local police say they made 381 arrests during a two-day operation on-site. According to a police spokesperson, 12 people were charged with supplying drugs at the festival and another 104 were allegedly caught with drugs in their possession.
