Another rip off is the companies such as Reconnect who handle residential rental payments. They charge a fee to use and hold onto our rental money for a few days before passing it to the letting agents. Whatever happened to the good old reliable and free direct debit instruction? The letting agents are also part to the rip-off for refusing to accept any other form of payment.

My estate agent had to use Macquarie Bank in a similar fashion. I got charged another $1 per week. Eventually agents saw sense, and gave them the flick as it created more paperwork and hassle for them too.

Airport parking charges are crazy.

Any car parking charges are a rip-off. Brisbane CBD parking can cost up to $70-80 for 4 or 5 hours.......

Some things like charging for parking were just inevitable, it was just a matter of time. We always had to pay at the hospital in Brisbane, either in the street or in the car park.

At least at the casino, they will validate your ticket so you don't have to pay.....though you have to play the tables for a few hours to qualify.....

The compulsory "third party" insurance that we have to pay with the rego. In the ACT we get to choose from one provider (NRMA) and pay $578. If we want to insure the car at all then we have to seek out another provider and pay another premium.
