Roam Express who charge $1 for each email statement they send.

Another rip off is the companies such as Reconnect who handle residential rental payments. They charge a fee to use and hold onto our rental money for a few days before passing it to the letting agents. Whatever happened to the good old reliable and free direct debit instruction? The letting agents are also part to the rip-off for refusing to accept any other form of payment.

We've stopped shopping at the places where they do that.

Agreed. Also, Telstra's disgraceful $500 installation fee that I got charged last January. I'll never use Telstra again because of that.

I heard the tail end of a news report a few days ago where a flood victim in Bundaberg was in desperate circumstances and she said she was charged $11 for a cup of coffee - if that's true its terrible that there are opportunists out there taking advantage of people in distress.

Yeap, that's just horrible. Almost as bad as looting.

Some things like charging for parking were just inevitable, it was just a matter of time. We always had to pay at the hospital in Brisbane, either in the street or in the car park.

To be fair though, my local hospital in Sydney and my former local hospital in London both charge to park.
