Gosh another commentary posted about asylum seekers, muslims or immigrants. Who would have thought ;)

Frankly in cases like an Australian citizen being deported wrongfully by our own government and senior officials ignoring and covering it up for years, damn straight she should be awarded damages.

Re: Asylum seekers cashed up

So half of the $5.4m payout went to a wrongly deported Australian.

I suspect she's not officially classed as an Asylum seeker.

Plus other payments to wrongly detained and wrongly deported Australians. Top Journalism.

Mohogony only reads the headline and the first sentence and develops his sense of moral outrage from that.

You have to admit, it saves a lot of time!

I would have thought it more worrying that the article reports an outbreak of the infectious diseases typhoid and tuberculosis at the overflowing detention centre on Christmas Island.

That'll be less of them coming to the mainland then.

Proper border control at last.

l'm sure they will all be given first class medical care at the taxpayers expense, They most likely will be flown to mainland hospitals they will probably kick the Aussie patients out of their hospital rooms to makeway for the boat people. Al the hospital staff will probably have cover themselves in Burkas so not to offend them.

mahogony, im seeing a pattern with your threads and posts. for some reason you have a problem with immigrants and Muslims and sensationalism reporting in relation to these topics.

Very perceptive of you sonly, but whilst (s)he's bashing muslims, at least those naughty Asians coming over and pushing up property prices (or whatever else (s)he's banging on about this week) are getting a break.

They do in the UK, in fact asylum seekers get better and quicker treatment than most Britons in private hospitals.

that's why I mentioned immigrants mate, it covers a wider range of people;)

what is is with his/her thinking, I just don't get it:confused:

I'm all for controlled migration and I understand Aus doesn't want to overload with additional expense, no skills, no infastructure to support it, but it's also important it's not inward looking. Migrants have made this the mogrel country and it's better class because of it:thumbup:

Yes well try buying a decent house in a decent suburb of Sydney or Melboune unless you have atleast $1m bucks plus, go to any acution and you get outbidded by 50 Chinese multi millionaers buying up whole streets, and they call themselves a communist people. Even all the realestate agents in some places are all Chinese.Young Aussies can no longer afford to pay rent or buy a house with all these immigrants pushing up the prices

you sound bitter and twisted mate. Maybe you need to look at the laws of supply and demand and understand that the people who are buying are the ones who are more affluent, probably due to working hard for their money.

I bet there are no boat people rich enough to buy million dollar houses:rolleyes:

Oh mohogony, dear mohogony.

You obviously get your kicks out of it and only do it for attention (because nobody sane is this bitter and twisted, right?) but you're going so overboard lately that you're in danger of nobody taking you seriously.

People will get bored, and then your threads will stop getting all those hits, and you don't want that, now do you, even if they are all laughing at you, not with you?

And to think you once had the audacity to be outraged when I suggested you were trolling

these boat people are not real refuguess, the real refuguess are the ones waitng years in the camps who obey the law and apply to come to Australia legally and who don't have $100 grand to pay people smugglers and whose places are stolen by the boat people. What about these boat people from Skri lanka they are probably safer in Ski lanka then we are in Australia. The ones from the middle east say the government wants to arrest them and kill them then why are they able to hop on a plane and fly to Indonesia, would'nt they be arrested the airport when they show their passport and why to do many then go back to their home countries for holdiays from Australia if their lives are really in danger there.

That's not even an argument. It's a tirade of sweeping and unsupported generalisations.

You're obviously struggling in life old chap. With all these Chinese communist millionaires, boat people ,islamist terrorists and other nasty ,smelly disease ridden immigrants(Are you not one?).
Why don't you come back home to Burnley? I know of a political party who will nourish that astounding intellect, listen to you,and heh! you might also meet a nice English girl who wil be able to deal with that little sexual repression problem you have going on.

Before this completely descends into a Monty Python sketch, can I make one serious point.:p

These 'cashed up' chinese having the audacity to spend their money in Australia.... errr, is that not the point. A huge cash injection for the australian economy?

It's not the chinese fault Australia has been living beyond its means for a decade. Now it has to sell off everything just to keep the standard of living they've got used too.

Anyway, almost all chinese who arrive here are NOT asylum seekers, they're are cashed up students, paying the bills for our underfunded universities and supporting the rental properties of all the new apartment blocks in the CBD.

Can't see what your problem is.
