Brit lady acquaintance drives up to far north Queensland every year and spends the winter on the beach up there, she drives and tows the caravan and has done it for years and meets the same people every year.
Wow sounds amazing!

How nice would that be!

That depends on whether you think people in their 40's-50's are "old"I was speaking to a friend in Oz the other day and she told me the nomads were in that age bracket from 40's onwards,so I was just going by what she said tbh!On that subject though,I've heard the "older"generation are now taking what they call "gap"years, and good on them too!OH and I would'nt mind taking a year out ourselves at some stage. We travelled to Sri Lanka last year, and met a brit couple who were mid 50's,had rented their house out for a year, and were doing voluntary work!Very cool I think!!!!

Was sorting out renewal of house/contents last week and because we are over 50 we are now considered seniorsalways thought it was middle aged, sounds far better don't you think? and they were saying that 50 is the new 40 so what's the go???

I can actually because I'm nearly 50!Must admit though don't feel it,mind you what are you supposed to feel like at that age?It really gets my goat when people around the same age as me say something like "Well at "our"age.......... At what age?????Why put limits or expectations of ages? And before anyone has a go,no I'm not in denial either.I don't have any problems with age, never have, hopefully never will!I climbed a tree the other day, some people might go into shock and say "You did that.....at your age?????Why should'nt I climb a tree if I feel like it?I hope to still be climbing tree's in my "older"age!Luckily I'm very fit, practice yoga everyday,go out for walks every spare day I have, but I know some people around my age that act like they are heading for the retirement home!

Makes you feel pretty bad when doctors at hospital say " you can expect this at your age" "EXCUSE ME WHAT AGE? IAM ONLY 52 NOT 72".This was from male and female 30ish gyno specialists.

To top it off dh has no tact and states a week after my major op that" i ought to have my hair done as the greys are showing again".ffs
Funnily enough i couldn't even lift the kettle for at least 3 weeks (when he was there)Maybe should have biffed the b***er with it!!!

I saw a great spare wheel cover the other day on a Camper Van. It said 'Adventure before Dementia'

I do hope we get our turn....before the kids kill us off with the stress of it all!

Some friends (in their late 50's) we made in Adelaide are visiting the U.K for a year to spend some quality time with elderly Parents. They are semi retired, and the wife is working as a relief Teacher to supplement their travels. They have rented out their home and are staying with Relatives to lessen the financial load.

Jan (aged 42, and greying....but doesn't give a fig )

I think I'd rather be a mutant with super powers.

Although I'd pay $5 to see Billy.
