OH has one .... doesnt like it, waste of money, terrified he's going to break the screen, cant SEE the screen if it is sunny which is a major problem out here. Never really uses all the applications like he thought he would. Its also too big and bulky despite being.
I have the Motorola Ming - he likes that much better. maybe check that out if you want the same sort of features on a smaller phone.

I've got one and while it does lack a few things (most notably 3G and Exchange sync) it is a fine geek tool and a conversation starter
It is an extremely good phone I think - easy to use but also very flash. And if you're a geek like me, pretty easy to get under the skin and make your own mods, etc.

It has configs for various mail services built in but it doesn't do Exchange server - well, it does but only if your IT department had IMAP configured (many don't). There is talk that by June this year, there will be a proper Exchange sync client (like Windows Mobile devices have) but this remains to be seen.
So the short answer is yes it does but it may not be possible for everybody. I look after our mail server at work so ...... well let's just say it's not a problem for me
PS The web browser is a proper web browser, not a cut-down one like on most phones.

I'm sure he'll enjoy it - just remember to get the cover for it to protect it.

I LOVE my ming .... its FABULOUS! only thing you need to know that you have to buy the memory card to put on your MP3's or anything as the internal memory only stores about 2 pics and 3 downloaded ringtones so get the card and you can put everything on it.

Oh no I'm getting worried now as he'll never get round to sorting it out - too busy with clients. He is my IT department I'm afraid - I'm at uni and I'm really keen on the calendar facility to keep me organised.

If it's calendar sync you are after, the iPhone will sync with Outlook (via iTunes bizarrely) when you have it plugged in - it will also sync your contacts and internet favourites - but it will not sync calendars when not plugged in. If you only need to update it once a day - no problemo. And it's an absolute breeze to configure first time anyway so you could probably sack hubby
