Anyone got a 13 year old.
 

Hi there,

I wonder if any of you have got a son or daughter that could give my 13 year old son some positive comments on Australia. Although we are at the start of the process, he is refusing to even consider this move. It would be great to hear from some of the kids that have done it and are gad that they moved.

Hope you don't mind me asking this but I really am struggling with him.

I've got a 14 year old son who didn't want to come. He's now been here 8 months and absolutely loves it here. I'll ask him if he will help when he gets back from his mates house :)

I have 2! (13 year olds that is) but I doubt I'd get them to come on here. One is an aussie born and bred and one is an uprooted (haha) Canadian. My daughter has been living in Oz for 3 years now and loves it. Maybe they can exchange MySpace pages or MSN contacts in PM?

I have 2 boys(14 and 12).Before we came out here the 12 year old was adament that he wasn't coming,he had a large circle of friends and where we lived in a village they all see alot of eachother.Once we arrived here we enrolled him in school and from that time to now he hasn't looked back he is always out with his mates and he plays for cricket and football teams.Now my 12 year old is an out going sociable boy but my 14 year old is alot quieter and getting moody(by the day) like all teenagers but he also has settled in well.He plays sports and has built up a circle of friends and they both absolutly love it here.
We have been here 8 months now and i asked them both 6 months ago if they would move back to the uk and both their answers were NO!
I think kids adapt a lot quicker than adults with change .

We to have a 13 year old and a 15 year old 5 weeks in and loving every minute of it, my 15 year old was the one against the move now he wouldnt go back, both settled really well and the youngest struggles to make friends, not here its no probs:thumbup:

Soppy had a look at that thread thanks, I know it will be ok in the end he is a really nice kid who makes friends easily,but you know how it is. We could be moving 20 miles and he would be feeling like this.

He has just got his first girlfriend!!!

The girlfriend thing has to be a sore spot. Our 13 yo boy has got his first now too and it's ridiculous!! "I love youh's" all over MSN ans MySpace... *gag*
