I get these or variants of the 419 scam letter about every other day.. some people take the time to try and wind up these thieving bar stewards and put the results on the internet, it is amazing what they will do to
I lived in Abidjan for a year and was amazed at how corruption affected everything, even down to ambulance drivers extorting money to drive crtically ill people to hospital. we got stopped every day at least once from police tryign to get money from us. Most companies there employ someone whose sole job it is to sort out the bribes. One of my collegues sent a birthday card to his mum, some guy from the post office ahd opened it and added a sentence along the lines of "Mum, could you send me $10,000 so that i can buy my wife a car, but to keep it a surprise can you mail it to the following address!
" His mum phoned him to say she thought he had loads of money, why did he need more and who was this friend! Then again, most of the Africans i knew said that it they learnt how to be corrupt from the colonialists!

If anyone gets this through BE it will have a header on it to say that it was sent via BE, and this will have the sender's BE username on it. They cannot get your email address, it has to be sent via the site itself.
If that happens please forward it to me and we will ban the sender.
