Amazon?
So, I am now looking for a online book store.. usually back in Blighty I used Amazon... or Play.com (though play was used mainly for DVDs).. have googled Amazon Australia and got a reply back that it does not exist.. is that right? Or does anyone have a link? if not, anyone got any recommendations? I am mainly wanting to buy books cheapish... don't really want to use ebay, although I will if that is the only option..

PS Signed up for dstore but the books were coming up $25 per piece.. if that is the case will just patronise a bookstore and get the thing instananeously!

Re: Amazon?
It has already been said, but use Book Depository.
Something has changed with Amazon recently. They seem to be charging postage for every item instead of charging per package. With my last few orders the postage has been more expensive than the actual products.
Plus, Book Depository delivers so quickly. In the last fortnight I received an order from them and a postcard from NSW (I’m in the ACT). The books got here before the postcard that came from down the road!!
Definitely the best thing this site has taught me!!

how odd.. I was thinking about that the other day... how I havent ever gotten around to ordering it or finding it in the library... I am starting to compile a Christmas list (I know! ye gods woman! christmas my arse!) however the kids like to buy me something and I don't like them to spend too much as such xx

Re: Amazon?
Also look at Barnes & Noble and Deep Discount in the US - good prices and fairly low delivery charges.
Take advantage of the great AUD/USD exchange rate.

I'm another big fan of the book depository. I've ordered loads from them over the last year or so and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Their books are usually a bit more expensive than Waterstones or other "normal" bookshops, but the real bonus is the free shipping which makes it work out wayyyyyyy cheaper! My books usually get here in 8 days from the order being placed.

www.cd-wow.com also sell books and offer free delivery. I got My Sisters Keeper off there the other day. Only cost £5.99 for the book and delivery was quite fast as well.

Just had a look at that site and it's australian equivalent http://www.cdwow.com.au/ and the prices are very good, seems to be on a par with the book depository. Might give them a whirl to test their service!
