I'm really howling with laughter at some of these suggestions 
I think maybe if I just give him a days peace on his motorbike now and then it might work?

In the same way you provide space for your guests to retreat if they want to, you both need the same for yourselves. Telly in the bedroom so he can watch what he wants, den or room away so he can escape if he wants to, and yes, motorbike escape sounds good too.
