Default Accom close to Brisbane CBD

Hi Everyone

We will be landing into Brisbane on the 12th April 2010 and was wondering if anybody can recommend a good short term/holiday accomodation near to Brisbane CBD? There will be me, my husband and 2 year son so we are after somewhere furnished for about 4 weeks that doesnt cost lots and lots! We are coming over without a job, so my hubby will be meeting up with IT agents when we get there, so we wanted something very close to the CBD so it isnt a problem going for interviews etc....I have seen some properties in the surrounding areas eg 30KM from CBD, but we ideally wanted something more central whislt hubby is looking for job-but dont know how feasible this will be?

I look forward to hearing from anybody that can help us

Not sure either - but dont be despondent if he doesnt find work straight away. Companies don't tend to take on as much Jan - March. Some do but not that many. I can recommend Interpro and Targeted as agencies.

The Dahrl Court Apartments in Spring Hill are really nice. We stayed in one of their heritage townhouses, and got a good deal through www.wotif.com

We booked for 2 weeks, but we'd been to Brisbane before and knew exactly where we were looking for a rental house. If you're new to the area and are investigating different suburbs, you'll need longer. If you've any questions, ask away. Oh, and I work pretty close by (10 minute walk or so), so if you fancy meeting up for a coffee once you're over, let me know....

The Manhattan in Newstead seems to be a favourite with Be'rs. We stayed there when we first arrived for about 6 weeks, and loads of others have too. Very nice apartments, and 'almost' walkable to the CBD (but really get a bus!)

Hi

Thanks for this-Ive tried to find these apartments but the link says the apartments are no longer active? When did you stay there? What a shame, it would be nice to book somewhere that somebody has recommended....

We stayed there 5 years ago, and met another couple of BE posters who were staying there at the same time.

But in the meantime, in the last 5 years we've seen quite few posts of people who've stayed there, so if they have shut down it must have been quite recently.

I'll have a quick check

I tried to find the Manhattan in Newstead earlier this year, and emailed a company that seemed to rent apartments out there, but no one ever replied. Hence me going for Dahrl Court (they have really, really good Tripadvisor reviews)

Yeah, the Manhattan seems to have gone

Pity, it was almost like a BE Brisbane staging post

I saw one near Wynnum yesterday, advertised at $375 pw with minimum of 3 weeks.
If that isn't too far out, I will try to remember exactly where it was.

The link to the Manhattan seems to have been changed to:

http://www.realestate.com.au/realest...tal+properties

or

http://www.seqrents.com.au/man/index.htm
