Used car prices
Hi , my first post here . I'm here for 18 months and need to buy a car , from what I've seen so far a half decent runaround will be at least 25,000 bbd or just under £10K. A similar car in the UK I could get for £3K or less. If this is how it is I will have to have a look down the back of the couch for some more change! Cheers..Charlie.

that's how it is Charlie.. Sorry. living on an island isn't cheap.. you could likely find something for less. but be considerate of who and where you purchase it. There are lots of cars on the side of the roads, begging to be purchased.. but again.. buyer beware...

Thanks for the reply ,there are a few reasonably priced cars on Barbados market place which I will keep my eye on..

Yes Charlie this was biggest bug bear when I first emigrated. The main reason is supply and demand - a the time people were not allowed to (or costs were prohibitive) bring in cars older than 10 years so is limited choice. Not sure if that rule applies now.

Cars have to less than 4 years old now and under 50,000 miles

I have found a car for $15K bbd off a friend of a friend which is probably the best way. Barbados Marketplace Facebook seems to have the best priced cars for sale, dealer prices will be 50pcent more which is a lot! Good luck.
