Not really ha ha ha
Just saw an advert for Jason Jones and wondered if anyone could tell me if its worth a visit - I think it's on the way to Bridgetown - I have never been inside - is it like Pricesmart i.e. membership required, bulk shopping etc? In fact, are there any hidden gems out there that I don't know about as far as shopping: groceries, meat, sodas, wine, beer, anything
etc. I pretty much use Pricemart, Wineworld and Supercentre - did also join Shopsmart but I dont generally find much to buy in there. Cheers.

Jason Jones will cut the meat in front of you in pretty much any quantity.Good for lamb/pork chops and mince in bulk, very accommodating and relatively quick service.I've not seen any monkeys for sale in there. They even allow you to set up a monthly account, although I'm not sure whether that pertains to corporate trade only.
So-Lo on Black Rock main road, owned by expats Simon and dad John is good for general (not high quality) goods such as dog food, soap powders, tinned stuff etc in bulk or individually, although they have just brought in some very decent wine (sirah ,cab/sauvignon,chardonnay) at only around 15 bds.No monkeys there either!

Am liking the sound of this $15 wine, do you have to pay a membership to join?

I'm not the world's foremost connoisseur, but I like my wines and find these quite palatable. I don't think you'll find better prices even at the wine merchants or supermarkets. No membership required, just walk in,ask for Simon, really nice guy.

Fabulous, as long as it is drinkable I am happy. I shall go on my way back from the school run next week!
