Hi all,

I was in Barbados not too long ago, got a Lime pay as you go Sim card which i then brought back to the UK with me. I was hoping to keep the number for when i returned but totally forgot to top up with sufficient funds. or inquire if it is indeed possible to keep the Sim card alive for 6 months or so.

I turned the phone on after being back in the UK for almost two months and it worked. As i did have a little bit of money on the card, i was able to receive a call from Barbados, but now that there is no more money on the card. calls can no longer be connected.

So my questions are (after going round the houses :-)

1) Will this Sim card stay alive for when i return even if there are no funds on the card for further few months? but when i return to Barbados, i just top up as usual and go?
2) Or if i must top up to keep the Sim card alive, is there any way i can top up from here if a top up voucher was brought for me? or by other means?

Hi Patty,

I think they give you one year before it expires entirely.

As for topping up without being here, I've tried that in the past and was told (by LIME, when I called them) that the only way to do it was in person.

However, LIME has been advertising a new online top-up service. Problem is, every time I go to their website, I can't figure it out!

Has anyone figured out if/how to top up LIME online?

Wow! The LIME website has changed since I last tried to top up online. I'm so relieved to see that I can easily top up online now.
