Default Working out Net Pay

Have been looking at several cost of living calculators on the web to try and get a "rough" idea of how we would strand financially in Oz. Problem is they keep asking for NET PAY but obviously all the job adverts advertise GROSS, and I can't find any info on how to figure out tax brackets etc to get a NET PAY amount?

Any ideas? Looking at Brisbane region if that makes and difference and a salary in the region of $50-$60k.

Thx!

Hiya,
This might give you a better idea, although there will be various other factors to consider. (Don't know what they will be-i'm not a financial advisor ). At least it's a ball park figure

good luck with the calculations.

0 to 6000 nil tax rate
6001 to 25000 15%
25001 to 75000 30%

on 60,000 therefore its
2850 (being 19000 (25000 - 6000) x 15%) +
10500 being 35000 (60,000 - 25000) x 30%)
13350 Total Tax
Net therefore being 46650 or
897 per week
3887 per month

I just take off 25% of pay and divide by 12 or 52 depending on monthly or weekly result and find its pretty close.

I wouldnt do this on a low income but on about 50k and above.

There's a calculator on the ATO's website that is what I always use to calculate my net pay.
