Working Holiday visa question
Hi Folks,
My bro is in Oz on a tourist visa. Can he get a working holiday visa while he is in Oz or does he have to leave the country to get one ? If he does have to leave and go to NZ, for example, how long does it take to get the visa ? He has not had one before and he is the correct age.
Thanks for any help provided.
Cheers.

Re: Working Holiday visa question
According to http://www.immi.gov.au/facts/49whm.htm the answer is no, the rules say the application must be made from any country except Australia. From other posts on this board it just takes a day or so normally to get a working holiday visa for Aus provided all required information is given.

You can't get a working holiday visa in Australia.

If he's British, he can get a WHV by applying to the Australian Consulate in Auckland
(some other nationalities have to apply to the Australian mission in their home
countries). No idea how long it will take though.
