RIght, there has been two (long!) threads on this film already:

The movie is not true. I guess Ivan Milat stuff comes closest.
And Wolfe Creek Crater National Park is in northern WA.... Very mean of it to put it in WA, even though it's not based on anything that's happened here...

We watched the film a little while and it gave me the creeps. I normally like a scary film but Wolf Creek was just a little bit to real with the way it was portrayed for me. Especially the end when they show the credits of what happened after (you know like they do in true stories) the guy that survived was the only witness and a suspect for a while but then all was dismissed because his evidence unreliable.
The film ended with me thinking there was still some nutter hanging out in the WA bush some place. In fact it left me feeling so bnervous I was straight on the internet to do some research.
There is a Wolfe Creek in WA (notice it has an e on the end) and the film is not true but based losley around murders in other states (which ones will vary depending on whose account you will read).
Anyway the bottom line is that if you are coming over to WA then you have nothing to worry about. Despite what the film leaves you thinking it is nothing more than fiction.

The Snowtown murders were committed by a small group of people who used their victims' personal details to obtain social security benefits by fraud.
