Hello from Wet Sydney!
I thought I would reply as I am waiting to go out and its raining again! I've been here a week now and we have had rain everyday and I am loving it, as I feel right at home here as I have just flown in from Wales!
One thing I would say is that, never mind whinging Poms, its definitely been whinging ozzies with all this rain! After speaking to friends back at home, they have had really good weather since I have left as well! I will get my own back on them when I pop back in July as I will bring the rain back with me, you can guarantee that!
One of the benefits of my new upside down life is that the Joe Calzaghe's fight will be on at a very reasonable time of the day, this sunday at 12noon, however the football is on at a crazy hour of 3 or 4 in the morning!

It's bitterly cold here in the U.K
I think I have Raynauds disease as my fingers are white and painful with the cold. I have been wearing gloves all day.
It's April ffs

Still consistently higher temperatures in Sydney at the moment, and will be probably for rest of April. May will probably be about equivalent. June, July and August is likely to be higher in UK. September probably equivalent. That's my guess. Sydney winters are still mild though, and plenty of blue sky.

I'm a tad apprehensive about moving over in "winter" as our house has no heating.
I know it's not cold cold but I've become acclimatised to Asia - anything under 25C is cold to me. It's usually mid 30s here but 95% humidity makes it feel a lot hotter.
Looking forward to not sweating constantly as soon as I head out the door though.
edit: And my short-haired Singapore cats are going to be very dischuffed.

It is school hols here at the mo and just about the whole time so far it has been showery (with the odd torrential rain thrown in). Day time temps have been hitting a max of approx 21 degrees but they probably don't reach that until after 11am and then by the time the sun starts setting around 5.30 -6.00pm the temp drops pretty sharply. It may not feel as cold to you as it does to those of us who have been here for a couple of years but I would expect you to feel the chill first thing in the morning and in the evenings.
As a general rule, I feel that NSW and the UK have similar temperatures for the months of April and May, it's just that it feels cooler here because the houses aren't built with the same insulation.
Don't forget to bring your woolies!
