The waiting is awful:(
I was checking my emails at 6am and before bed at 11pm. It overtook my life and it doesn't get any better if you get a case officer because then you check even more!!! We applied in September and granted in March. The waiting is definately the hardest part - the not knowing and uncertainty. I think once you know at least you can sort the house and get things moving (she says - house on market next week!!) Good luck J x |

Gave verbal notice to our Head last Friday and gave my written notice yesterday:thumbsup: House sale still on the go, £20k under the offering price and £40k under what we'd have got a year ago. Can't hang around though as I'm an old fogey and need to catch a few sharks etc:rofl: Get paid up until Aug 31st so that's good and if I need to do supply in the Autumn, then that's ok.
It's hard for you and many others, we still have worries about being taken off the CSL. I am sure you will get in, it just may take a little longer. Wish we could help you but will keep our fingers crossed. Year 11 leave a week on Friday:D Roll on half-term! Cooler |

Started the whole process for my visa in November last year when I sent off my skills assessment, lodged my visa application in February as a Primary School Teacher on a GSM 175 (non CSL/MODL/SS).
Does anyone else in the same situation as myself (not knowing when your visa will get processed) ever have really 'down days' wondering if it'll ever happen? I'm close to tears today @ the utter frustration of knowing none of the states will even sponsor me and that my visa may well not be processed this side of 3 years time... Sorry for having a gurn (moan) but I was just hoping I'm not alone?! This whole Australia thing has taken over my life, and I'm really trying to put it to the back of my mind, but it just wont go away! I wont give up, even if it does take 3 years, but at the same time, I get so frustrated @ times!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR lol :p Anyone?! Don't check your visa more than once a week, and maybe leave the research alone a little bit. I really think thats the reason I'm a bit more sane than I otherwise could have been :) |
Re: Will they ever let me in?
Hi Jen
Me and OH are from Ballymena and have been in Perth since Oct last year. I know exactly how you feel as we originally started the ball rolling with the visa process in May 2007 and finally lodging the visa application in Oct 07. We were like you and the whole immigration process was taking over our lives and it was all we talked aobut and was all we cared about untill we had to thank ourselve lucky that we had what we had and that we were happy and to start enjoying life., It was hard but for the sake of things we had to do that. Please know you are not alone and that 9 out of 10 people feel the way you do right now and it is worthing noting that her in Australia we are approaching the end of the financial year and visa grants will stop for a while and resume again come 1st July , we were told this last year by out visa agent and bang on the 1st July 08 we were granted our visa. So just hang in there it is def a difficult process and does take over your life but just thin how lucky you are that you have a full time permanent teaching job and everything esle that you have to be thankful for and just see how things go... It not easy and I can agree with you. My hubby and I never though we were going to get here and only last year we were talking about if we dont get visa we will build an extension on the house and just accept how it was going to work out, but we are proof that you will get there in the end. New financial year begins 1st July. Take care and chill. (((((((((((((((( HUGS))))))))))))))))))))):wub::thumbup: Nadine |

Re: Will they ever let me in?
You've just gotta tough it out! I know its hard because we started the process in August 2005, got our visa in February 2007, validated in October 2007, had what we thought would be our final Xmas 2007, house on the market in May 2008 and we are still stuck here in Scotland trying to sell our house!
You just have to be positive and look on it as a challenge, you will get there when the time is right and when you are supposed to. :fingerscrossed: for your visa. Lone Ranger |
Re: Will they ever let me in?
We just got our PR 175 today. Told at 09.00hrs prompt!
We were lodged Dec 07. I cried with relief! The constant state of limbo and not knowing is terrible. Now we can move forward and finally prepare for saying goodbye to my Mum and Sister who have been going through limbo land with us. Keep going - it feels great to have got the bloody thing after sooo long! Hope you here soon. Lou :fingerscrossed: |
