Welcome to BE.
Sorry but an idea of where 'over there' actually is would greatly help. This is a world wide forum, and people come here wanting to move to many countries.

Are you doing a DEGREE or a DIPLOMA? Two very different educational standards. for example a lot of UK nurses have a Diploma, but in most countries they require Nurses to have a degree.Where are you looking to relocate to?
Does the Diploma in Higher Education give you a recognised teaching qualification? i.e does it allow you to register with the UK Teachers list? bit confusing as you say Diploma in Higher Education then (primary School). Which is it? The more info you give, the more relevant and practical the answers you'll get. We love to help on BE but need some clues.

That's something you need to sort out before you start to apply for jobs.
If your husband is a general labourer and not specialising in one area (bricklayer, carpenter etc) then he would struggle to get a skills assessment. He would need to be working in a specific area as thats the way they do things here.
For yourself, I believe I'm right in saying that to teach here you need a four year degree - many people have a three year one, topped up with a year of PGCE - I know someone will be along with more complete info soon
I don't believe a diploma aone will be enough to register you as a primary school teacher herre, plus the jobs are hard to come by at present because there are so many unemployed Aussie graduate teachers.
Have you looked into the visas available to you at all yet?

You are sort of putting the cart before the horse a bit here I fear. You will need a skill that gets you a visa and teaching requires 4 years at University so a diploma probably wouldn't cut it. Labourer certainly won't cut it!
Teaching is a hard occupation to get into with thousands of unemployed teachers looking for work so unless you train to be secondary maths and science you will struggle - you've chosen a place where lots of people actually want to live so the competition for jobs from highly qualified people is huge.

But you seem to be jumping a few steps, how are you going to get a visa? A diploma in primary school education is not going to be nearly sufficient. You would need a four year degree and even then it is not easy for primary teachers as you would need to secure state sponsorship for your application.

Is the diploma a post graduate diploma of education primary? if it is i'm assuming you've done a degree in something else in order to get onto the diploma? A good way to check how you might meet the requirements to be a teacher in queensland/gold coast is to contact the Qld College of Teachers - they are the people that will register you as a teacher once you meet all of the qualification requirements - send them an email, tell them what you've studied/will be studying and hopefully they'll give you some info on how employable that will make you -

Good luck.
