None of the above. People who are unhappy, and appear demoralised to such an extent it appears they want others to be as miserable. Their post history is singularly about these sorts of things. (Significantly, they don't even recognise when people are agreeing with them or even trying to think about their responses..)

This grumble of yours is a trend we see...Unfortunately in the context of BE, it does manifest itself in people that prefer the UK...(I let that slide - I don't like turning this into the age old). I'm more interested in you and your story...

I was actually going to be very condescending and send you away - in some circles - **** you right off - but hey, this is BE....

Where there are more people that prefer something, than those who don't, there will be a marked tendency for a noticeable force of opinion due to the numbers involved.

That is something that must be expected.

What also has to be understood is that many people like what they have, and may not take kindly to being called some of the things that they are called, because that something is not liked by another person, who thinks their way is best.

"Expensive" is relative, if you don't do the comparison thing then the point is ... to use a slightly poncy term ... moot.

I could not give a flying freak how much my lettuces cost as long as I can open my front door and look at THAT ... that's it, right there ... THAT ... it's f'king magnificent.

No, THAT ... isn't it great? Jesus, I need to go out there and look at those stars again.

Indeed, as John Lennon sang ... "Lettuce Be".

And "Give Peas A Chance", for that matter.
